Yes I went to see the old school some years ago. It was closed then. Weeds were growing everywhere. There was a different name above the door, cant recall the name now. I remember the school building being bright and big. I was not happy at that school. I was bullied a lot being small for my age. I remember the building being new and fresh. Wonder what they will do with it now. Do you know. I live in Dagenham now. Christine aged 57

I attended this school between 1967 and 1972 when it was still called Cardinal Griffin though it changed its name to St Phillip Howard shortly after I left and became finally something like The Blessed John Roache before it finally closed.
There were some fantastic teachers there and some great kids but overall the school suffered from major problems and I agree with you Christin - vandalism, minless violence and bullying were all rife. Great pity but I still have many fond memories.
