I went to the Festival of Britain on a school trip from Stockport High School for girls. I was 15 and remember it all so well. How the world has changed since then!

I was 9 years old and my parents took me from Chingford to the Battersea exhibition
6th Jul 2012
I went with my school when i was 11,I can remember the big water fountain shaped like a tree, with small containers at the top, that filled from the back, and when full would tip into the next larger one, and so on until the largest ones at the bottom, and when they tipped, very impressive.
15th Jul 2012
i was 5 years old when my parents took me to the southbank
4th Sep 2012
I remember a tall structure, and shiny ball bearings falling down in the bottom of it; also a big carved hand.
4th Sep 2012
A ttutor at my college was in a tower, under construction at the festival, may have been the Skylon?and recalled being in the very confined space in the base whilst a heavy weight was being hoisted up, the rope suddenly started to coil up at their feet, knowing this great weight was descending at a rate of knots, they only just managed to scramble to safety through a tiny door!!
