Just think if the final hadn't gone to extra timeI remember this like it was yesterday.We all thought that this was the goal that would win the world cup for England ,then the Germans equalised.

Remember watching the game aged 9 on the black & white tv with my dad in the front room of our terraced house, seems like only yesterday !!!!!!!!

i also watched the final on tv it is a pity todays over paid players do not play with the same passion for our country as the england team did then

I was on holiday with 5 other girls and we were in Margate Bowling alley as the game went on - frequent updates blared over the tannoy system and after we won and all the cheering etc, I recall "Black Is Black" by Los Bravos being played loudly. I'll always associate those 3 things together.
