Cannes Film Fest./Mel Gibson 1999

Australian actor Mel Gibson at Icon Productions in Cannes, France, after the previous night's premiere of the film 'Felicia's Journey', which is to be judged for the Palme D'or competition at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. * 23/01/01: Gibson has revealed he harboured ambitions to be a war correspondent, but believes the career would only have increased his insanity. "Acting blind-sided me and became therapy for the madness. Being a journalist would have fed it," the Braveheart actor told Radio Times magazine. Gibson, 45, said he was born with his madness but has learned to keep it in check.
