Remembered more than a year ago
I used to go to the Cali with a friend on Fridays when it was mostly locals as Saturdays we found mainly people came from the London area. One time stood alongside Mick Jagger in the bar. Edwin Green the founder of the Cali lived just along the road from me. There is a book called the 'Cali' Album which tells the story of the Cali with lots of interesting information and took me back to my teenage years.By Daphne Titterington (nee de Groot)

I remember working the Cali special on Saturday nights. Packed over 100 passengers on a 72 seater bus on more than one occasion. Pity those days had to end.

In the mid 60's, my friends and I would go to the Cali most Fridays, some Saturdays and see some great acts, with non stop music from stages at each end of the hall, Mrs Green was in charge then and she would occasionally let us use the swimming pool at the rear of the dance hall. Magical days with wonderful memories!
