1964 Grand National 1964

'Time' the favourite ridden by M. Scudamore, buckles and goes down at the fearsome Becher's Brook on the second circuit in the 1964 Grand National at Aintree. Going away is 'Purple Silk', with J. Kenneally in the saddle, and just completing the jump right is 'team Spirit' with G.W Robinson. These two put in a sensational finish to the race with Team Spirit, smallest horse of the field, coming up almost at the post to snatch victory by half a length.
